Rui Cunha Marques

Graduated, Post-graduated, MSc, PhD and Postdoc (habilitation), is a Full Professor of the Scientific Area of Systems Engineering in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Lusófona University, Portugal. He is a researcher of the Research Centre for Asset Management and Systems Engineering (RCM2+), of the Public Utility Research Center (PURC) at the University of Florida and of the Center of Local Government (CLG) at the University of New England in Australia, where he is a Visiting Professor at the Business School. His areas of expertise include regulation of public services, performance assessment, project management, procurement, particularly public-private partnerships and infrastructure services. He is the author of over 700 scientific publications in several countries, including 14 books and two theses and more than 270 referred journal articles.He also produced more than 500 technical reports. Currently he is a consultant of the World Bank and of Asian Development Bank (ADB) and in the past he collaborated with other international organisations, such as the European Investment Bank, the European Union, the United Nations and the Millennium Challenge Corporation, as well as with other government entities and public and private companies from several countries. He has developed work in more than 50 countries in the five continents.
